Driver’s License Apostille for South Korea

March 16, 2023 by Admin

Do you need to apostille your driver’s license for South Korea?

To exchange your driver’s license for a South Korean driver’s license, you will need to follow these general steps:

  1. Check if you are eligible: Contact the South Korean embassy or consulate in the United States or visit the website of the Korea Driver’s License Agency to check if you are eligible to exchange your driver’s license for a South Korean driver’s license.

  2. Prepare necessary documents: Prepare the required documents, such as your driver’s license, your passport, and proof of your stay in South Korea (such as a visa or residence certificate).

  3. Take a driving test: Depending on your eligibility and the South Korean regulations, you may need to take a written and/or driving test. Some regions in South Korea require a driving test for all foreign applicants while others do not.

  4. Submit application: Submit your application and the necessary documents to the Korea Driver’s License Agency. You can apply in person or online, depending on the region.

  5. Wait for the license: After submitting your application and passing the required tests (if applicable), you will receive your South Korean driver’s license.

In order to obtain an apostille on a color copy of your driver’s license, you will need to make a color copy of your license and meet with a local notary public.  The notary will then either copy certify the license (of allowed in their state) or notarize your signature.  You can also write out the following statement, “I certify this is a true color copy of my driver’s license”.  Once notarized, you can mail it in with our order forms for processing.  Do not mail in the original driver’s license; only the notarized color copy.

It is recommended that you contact the South Korean embassy or consulate in the United States or the Korea Driver’s License Agency to confirm the specific requirements and procedures for exchanging your driver’s license for a South Korean driver’s license.

Obtaining an apostille on a driver’s license can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!

Our staff is available Monday-Saturday from 9am to 6pm to answer your questions and provide you easy to follow-step-by-step instructions.  Please call us at 1-800-850-3441.

Apostille for Saudi Arabia

March 1, 2023 by Admin

Saudi Arabia joined the Hague Apostille Convention on December 7, 2022.

The purpose of the Apostille is to authenticate the origin of a public document and to enable it to be recognized in another country that is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.

In many cases, when a person needs to use a public document in a foreign country, such as a birth certificate or a diploma, the document must be legalized or authenticated to be recognized as valid. The legalization process can be complicated and time-consuming, involving multiple steps and authorities.

The Apostille for Saudi Arabia simplifies this process by providing a standard certificate of authentication that is recognized by all apostille member countries. Once a document has been issued an Apostille, it can be used in any other member country without the need for additional legalization or authentication.

The Apostille is particularly useful for individuals and businesses engaged in international transactions, such as those involving property, education, employment, or legal matters. It helps to facilitate the exchange of information and documents between countries and promote greater international cooperation.

We can apostille the following documents for Saudi Arabia…

  • Birth Certificates
  • Marriage Certificates
  • Death Certificates
  • Divorce Decree
  • Single Status
  • Background Checks (FBI, Police)
  • Power of Attorney
  • Transcripts

  • U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA)
  • IRS (Form 6166)

  • Petition for Name Change

  • Certificate of Free Sale
  • Certificate of Origin

Certificate of No Marriage Record (CENOMAR) for the Philippines

February 20, 2023 by Admin

A Certificate of No Marriage Record for the Philippines is a document that certifies that an individual has not contracted any marriage in a particular jurisdiction, or that there is no record of a previous marriage on file for that individual in that jurisdiction. This document is usually required by foreign governments and other organizations as proof of an individual’s single status.

Example, if you are in Orange County, California, simply contact the County Clerk’s office for instructions on how to obtain a Certificate of No Marriage Record.  This document may also be called a single status.

Here is an example of a Certificate of No Marriage Record:

The first step is to contact the local County Clerk’s office to request a document that states you are currently not married.  Most all County Clerk offices can provide you this document so please be sure to speak to a supervisor/manager if you are told otherwise.  A document issued from the County Clerk’s office does not require notarization.

Note: If the local County Clerk’s office is unable to help you, contact the next closest County Clerk’s office.

If the County Clerk is unable to assist you and you are in the United States, you can use the sample above to write your own single status affidavit.  Basically, you are writing a sworn statement stating that you are currently not married to another person in the United States.  Be sure to have this document signed and notarized before you mail it in to our office. You should also check with the people requesting your single status if they will accept a sworn affidavit directly from you.

If you are outside of the United States, the local US Embassy or US Consulate office should be able to assist you in completing a single status and also having it signed and notarized.  Because you will be visiting a U.S. Federal Government office and having your document signed and notarized by a US Federal notary public, this document can then only be apostilled through our Washington DC apostille office.

Here is an example of a Single Status Affidavit / Affidavit of Civil Status issued from a U.S. Embassy / Consulate General:

Please Note: We can only help you with documents originating from or notarized within the United States and for another country. If your single status affidavit is originating from another country, you will need to contact the correct competent authority to assist you in that country.

Obtaining an apostille on a Certificate of No Marriage Record can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!

Death Certificate Apostille from the United States

February 14, 2023 by Admin

An apostille is a form of authentication or legalization that is used to verify the authenticity of a death certificate. It is a certification that is recognized internationally, and it is often required for official documents that are being used in a foreign country who is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention.

There are a few reasons why you might need to apostille a death certificate. For example:

  1. Inheritance or estate matters: If you need to settle an estate or claim an inheritance in a foreign country, you may need to provide a death certificate as proof of your loved one’s passing. In some cases, the foreign government or court may require an apostille on the death certificate to verify its authenticity.
  2. Immigration purposes: If you are a foreign national who needs to provide proof of a family member’s death in order to obtain a visa or other immigration benefit, an apostilled death certificate may be required.

We can apostille death certificates issued from all 50 States and the District of Columbia. We cannot apostille death certificates issues outside of the United States.  For countries who are non-members of the Hague Apostille Convention, we can also process the death certificate through the U.S. Department of State (Federal) and the Embassy or Consulate office (Embassy or Consulate Legalization).

In order to apostille a death certificate, you must mail in the original or a certified copy issued by the County Clerk or State Registrar to our office for processing.  Death certificates can only be authenticated from the State of origin.  The Secretary of State does not have the authority to authenticate death certificates issued from another state.  For example, a California death certificate cannot be processed in New York.

Note: Vital record documents cannot be color copied, emailed, notarized, or uploaded to any website.  Beware of sites that ask you to upload your documents!

Obtaining an apostille on a death certificate can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. How to Apostille a Birth Certificate

February 12, 2023 by Admin

An apostille is a form of authentication for a legal document, such as a birth certificate, that allows it to be recognized in another country who is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention. To obtain an apostille for your birth certificate, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Obtain a certified copy of your birth certificate from the issuing authority, such as the vital records office in the state or country where you were born.  In the United States, we recommend that you contact the County Clerk’s office or State Registrar.
  2. Check the requirements of the country where the birth certificate will be used to make sure it meets their criteria for an apostille.  For example, in the state of California, a birth certificate issued from the Health Department will require the County Clerk to authenticate the Doctor’s signature.
  3. Contact the appropriate authority to obtain the apostille. In the United States, this is typically the Secretary of State in the state where the birth certificate was issued.  For example, if the birth certificate originates from California, you will need a California apostille.
  4. Provide the certified copy of your birth certificate and any required fee or documentation to the appropriate authority.  Please contact our office so we can email you the instructions and order forms.
  5. Wait for the apostille to be processed, which can take several days or weeks depending on the authority.  The estimated processing time can be found here: Apostille Processing Time
  6. Once the apostille is processed, the state will attach it to your birth certificate, certifying that the document is authentic and can be recognized in the country where it will be used.

Obtaining an apostille for your birth certificate can be complicated and time-consuming. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!
