On October 2, 2024, the U.S. Department of State resumed walk-in  service at their offices in Washington DC but with several restrictions.  For one, they only allow documents to be submitted between 8am and 9am Monday through Thursday.  The original plan was to process documents in seven business days but that soon stretched to 12-15 business days (two to three weeks).  We believe the processing time may increase during the Holiday season.  Furthermore, the Department of State will only allow a set number of documents to be submitted daily.

Below is a current list of restrictions which may cause delays in processing your documents:

• The Counter desk is open Monday – Thursday between the hours of 8am and 9am
• There is a limit on how many documents that can be submitted per person/company.
• The processing time is between is between 12-15 business days (two to three weeks).
• Scheduled pick-up is not guaranteed and the processing time could be further delayed.

As of this date of this post, we are currently only able to offer the “Basic” and “Plus” service pricing.  The estimated processing time is 3-4 weeks for the “Basic” service and 2-3 weeks for the “Plus” service.  The processing times are estimated and may take longer especially during the Holiday season.

Also, documents mailed into our Washington, D.C. may take longer because of instability in receiving mail.  Thus, please allow an additional week for mailed-in documents.

Document issued from the U.S. Federal Government (Example: FBI background check, Social Security Income and Benefits Statement (SSA), Certificate of Naturalization, Certificate of Citizenship, VA Pension, DD214, IRS, FDA, USDA, USPTO, etc…) are processed directly from the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.

Obtaining an apostille can be complicated.
