UAE Embassy Attestation

May 25, 2023 by Admin

Do you need UAE Embassy Attestation?

Have you been asked to certify, legalize, and attest your documents through the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C.?

The most common documents we attest for the UAE is a birth certificate and marriage certificate from the United States.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is currently not a member of the Hague Apostille Convention (Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents) as of this post.  Documents originating from the USA and destined for the UAE requires several steps to complete. These steps are necessary in order for the country of the United Arab Emirates to accept your documents.

Below is a simple illustration to help explain the process:

Office Hours: Monday – Saturday 9am – 6pm
Customer Support: 1-800-850-3441
Email: UnitedArabEmirates@apostilleservices.com

To attest your documents through the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C., you will need to follow a series of steps typically called the “Legalization Process”. Here’s a general guide on how to attest your documents:

Step 1: Certification through the State: State issued documents (birth, marriage, divorce, power of attorney, etc…) will first need to be certified by the state of issue.  For example, if your birth certificate is from California, it will first need to be processed through the California Secretary of State’s office and have the certificate attached to the documents.  Documents that require your signature will need to before the certificate can be attached.

Beware of websites that ask you to upload your documents to a company located in New York or a company providing online notarization.

Step 2: Certification through the US Department of State: State certified documents can be certified through the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C for the UAE.  The purpose of this step is for the Department of State to certify the official who has signed the state certificate.  Federal documents only require the U.S. Department of State and the UAE Embassy.

Step 3: UAE Embassy Attestation/Legalization: The final step is to present your documents to the Embassy for attestation.  The Embassy will review your documents including the State and US Department of State certification.  Once verified, they will attach their seals to the back of the U.S. department of state certification.

Below is an example of a document attested by the UAE Embassy in Washington, D.C.

We can certify the following documents for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) …

  • Birth Certificates
  • Marriage Certificates
  • Death Certificates
  • Divorce Decree
  • Single Status
  • Background Checks (FBI, Police)
  • Power of Attorney
  • Transcripts
  • Diplomas
  • FBI Background Checks
  • U.S. Food and Drug Admin (FDA)
  • U.S. Dept. of Agriculture (USDA)
  • IRS (Form 6166)
  • Social Security Administration (SSA)
  • US Federal Court – District Court (DOJ)
  • Petition for Name Change
  • Certificate of Naturalization
  • Passports
  • Driver License
  • Authorization Letter
  • Travel Consent Letter
  • Articles of Incorporation
  • Certificate of Good Standing
  • Certificate of Free Sale
  • Certificate of Origin
  • Commercial Invoice
  • Certificate to Foreign Government
  • Patent and Trademark (USPTO)
  • Veterans Affairs (VA)
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)

Please Note: We can help you with documents originating from or notarized within the United States and for another country. If your documents originated from the United Arab Emirates (Example: Birth, marriage, death, divorce, etc..), you will need to contact the correct competent authority to assist you in that country.

Legalizing documents for United Arab Emirates can be complicated and time-consuming. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the legalization process and the unique requirements of this country. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!

Elementary School Transcripts Apostille

May 23, 2023 by Admin

Do you need to apostille Elementary School Transcripts?

We handle Elementary School transcripts issued from all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia. For countries that are not members of the Hague Apostille Convention, we offer the option to process these transcripts through the U.S. Department of State and the Embassy or Consulate office.

To check whether your country is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, you can visit this link: Hague Apostille.

Aside from Elementary School transcripts, we also provide apostille services for diplomas issued by Middle Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Universities, and Trade Schools. Before we can begin processing your transcript, please follow the three steps outlined below.

Step #1: Contact the Elementary school and inform them that you require the transcripts to be signed and notarized by an official from the school.  This is typically the school Principal.   If the school does not have a notary on staff, a traveling notary can visit the school and meet with the Principal. You can search online and arrange for a traveling notary service to visit the school at a convenient time. It’s worth noting that most notaries are not well-versed in authenticating a transcript for another country, so it is best to leave the apostille process to us. The notary must adhere to the proper notarial laws of their State for the State office to authenticate the documents.

Step #2: Once you receive the notarized transcript, verify that it has been signed and notarized. Some schools may sign and notarize the back of the transcript, while others have enough space to do so on the front. The documents should contain the original signature and printed name of the Principal, along with the notary’s name, signature, date of notarization, notarial wording, and stamp. Please be aware that some schools may draft a color letter and attach it to the transcript. The cover letter must be signed and notarized by the Principal as well.

Step #3: The final step is to mail the signed and notarized transcript to our office for processing. We have provided an order form and credit card authorization form for each U.S. State and the District of Columbia. You can find the forms at this link: Apostille Order Forms. For the most up-to-date information on processing time and availability, please contact our office.

Please Note: We can only assist with documents originating from or notarized within the United States for use in another country. If the transcripts originates from another country, you will need to contact the competent authority in that country for assistance.

Obtaining an apostille on Elementary School Transcripts can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!

Our staff is available Monday-Saturday from 9am to 6pm to answer your questions and provide you easy to follow-step-by-step instructions.  Please call us at 1-800-850-3441.

This document may also be referred to as a University Degree.

Step #1: The first step is to contact the Registrar at the University and inform the Registrar that you will need the original or a color copy of your diploma to be signed and notarized.  The Registrar with either ask you to mail in the original or email a color copy. Some Universities may request that you purchase a new diploma. If the University does not have a notary on staff, a traveling notary can visit the University and meet with the Registrar.  You can search online and arrange for a traveling notary service to visit the University when it’s convenient for them.  Most notaries are unfamiliar with authenticating a diploma for another country so it’s best to leave the apostille process to us.  The notary must follow the proper notarial laws of their State in order for the State office to authenticate the documents.

Step #2: Once you receive your notarized diploma, go ahead and verify that the diploma has been signed and notarized.  Some Universities will sign and notarize the back of the diploma while others have enough space to use the front.  The original signature and the printed name of the Registrar must be on the documents including the notary’s name, signature, date of notarization, notarial wording, and stamp.  Please note that some Universities may draft a color letter and attach it to the diploma.  The cover letter will need to be signed and notarized by the Registrar.

FBI Rap Sheet Identity History Summary Check Apostille

May 20, 2023 by Admin

Do you need to apostille an FBI Rap Sheet (Identity History Summary Check – IHSC)?

This document is commonly referred to as an FBI Background Check.

Individuals can obtain an Identity History Summary, commonly known as a criminal history or “rap sheet,” from the FBI by paying a fee. This document contains specific information derived from fingerprint submissions stored by the FBI, including details related to arrests, and in some cases, federal employment, naturalization, or military service.

If the fingerprint submissions are linked to an arrest, the Identity History Summary provides details such as the agency that submitted the fingerprints to the FBI, the date of the arrest, the charge for the arrest, and the disposition of the arrest if available. The FBI gathers all arrest information included in an Identity History Summary from fingerprint submissions, disposition reports, and other relevant data provided by authorized criminal justice agencies.

To streamline the process of obtaining an Identity History Summary, individuals have the option to engage with an FBI-Approved Channeler. These are private businesses that have entered into contracts with the FBI to submit requests on behalf of individuals, thereby expediting the delivery of Identity History Summary Checks (rap sheets) authorized by the FBI.

Cost: As low as $75 for each apostille.
Office Hours: Monday – Saturday 9am – 6pm

FBI background checks are currently signed by Kimberly J. Del Greco who is the Deputy Assistant Director or by Chris Ormerod who is the Section Chief of the Criminal Justice Information Services Division.  Previously, they were signed by William McKinsey.

Obtaining an apostille on an FBI background check can be complicated. Don’t leave this process to untrained employees or non-professionals who do not fully understand the apostille process and the unique requirements of certain countries. Your paperwork could be rejected costing you time and money. Don’t let this happen to you!

Affidavit of Single Status Apostille

May 19, 2023 by Admin

Do you need to apostille your affidavit of single status?

We offer apostille services for single status affidavits issued by all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Federal Government (USA Embassy Single Status). For countries that are not members of the Hague Apostille Convention, we can also assist with the legalization process of your single status certificate through the U.S. Department of State and the Embassy or Consulate office.

If you are planning to get married in a country that is a member of the Hague Apostille Convention, you will need to apostille a document known as a single status affidavit. Additionally, some countries may require this documentation for employment purposes.

The single status affidavit may also be referred to by various names, including:

  • No Record of Marriage Apostille
  • Certificate of Freedom to Marry Apostille
  • Certificate of No Impediment for Marriage Apostille
  • Certificate of No Record – Marriage
  • Affidavit of Single Status
  • Affidavit of Marriageability
  • Certificate of No Public Record
  • Eligibility to Marry
  • Affidavit of Civil Status
  • Vital Record of No Record

To begin the process, you should contact the County Clerk’s office in your local area. Request a document that confirms your current unmarried status, which is also known as a “Single Status” document. It’s worth noting that some County Clerk offices may use the term “no record of marriage” instead. Please refer to the list provided earlier for alternative names. Generally, most County Clerk offices can issue this document, but if you encounter any issues, it’s advisable to speak to a supervisor. Notarization is not required for a document issued by the County Clerk’s office.

Note: If your local County Clerk is unable to assist you, check with the next County Clerk’s office.

If the County Clerk is unable to provide assistance and you are within the United States, you can create your own single status affidavit using the sample provided above. Essentially, you will be drafting a sworn statement declaring that you are presently not married to another individual in the United States. Ensure that this document is signed and notarized before sending it to our office. It’s important to check with the requesting party if they accept a sworn affidavit directly from you.

For individuals outside of the United States, you can seek assistance from the local US Embassy or US Consulate office. They will guide you in completing the single status document and assist with the signing and notarization process. Since you will be visiting a US Federal Government office and obtaining the signature and notarization from a US Federal notary public, the document can only be apostilled through our Washington DC apostille office.

Obtaining an apostille on an affidavit of single status can be complicated.
